Abstarct: Abstract Quantum technology offers innovative applications to improve the performance of electronic systems. The study of electron transport through a quantum dot, which is more than a few decades old and still attracts a lot of attention, is one of the new topics of interest in this field. The methods and techniques of studying single electron transport through a quantum dot are reviewed in this thesis. First, the concept of quantum dot and its interesting properties are introduced, and then different methods used to investigate electron transport in these systems are examined. The methods used in the study of single-electron transport are baxsed on the investigation of quantum interference. In these methods, the probability of controlled electronic transport through the quantum dot is increased by using suitable electric potentials and quantum interference. Then, the single electron transport through a quantum dot is simulated in the frxamework of the master equation approach.
